Clothes were coming out barely warm no matter how long we ran the dryer. A failed heating element was to blame, swapped it out and everything's dry again in one cycle.
Cold air where hot should be, or a drum that just won't turn, both usually mean one small part has quit. We pin it down fast and fix it, often the same day.
Pick what your dryer is doing below and we'll tell you what's usually behind it.
No Heat At All
Drum tumbles like normal but everything comes out just as damp as it went in. Points to either a heating element that's given out, or a safety fuse that's tripped along the way.
Takes Forever To Dry
What used to be one cycle has crept up to two or three. This is a vent problem far more often than it's actually the dryer's fault.
Drum Won't Turn
You can hear the motor running but the drum itself sits still. A broken or slipped drive belt is almost always the reason behind this one.
Squealing At Startup
A sharp squeal the moment the dryer kicks on, sometimes fading after a minute. Usually the drum support rollers drying out and needing fresh lubrication.
Faint Burning Smell
A slightly scorched odor in the first couple minutes of a load. Worth checking the area around the heating element for built-up lint before running it again.
Shuts Off Too Early
Cycle ends on its own well before clothes are actually dry. A thermal cutoff tripping ahead of schedule, usually because airflow somewhere is more restricted than it should be.
