Right burner would spark endlessly but never actually catch, happened every single time we tried lighting it. The igniter had shifted out of alignment, adjusted it and it lights on the first click now.
A burner that ignores the dial, or one that clicks without ever catching, both come down to a small, identifiable part. We find it fast and get your stovetop working again.
Pick what your stove is doing below and we'll tell you what's usually behind it.
Burner Won't Light
Turn the dial and you get a spark but no flame ever catches. Usually the igniter has shifted slightly out of place, or the gas port itself is partially clogged.
Element Stuck On High
One burner just runs at full blast no matter where the dial is set. Points to a stuck switch behind that specific burner, not a problem with the coil itself.
Igniter Clicks Endlessly
Constant clicking with no flame ever showing up, sometimes for a full minute. Moisture or grime inside the igniter is the most common reason it won't fire reliably.
One Coil Won't Heat
Every burner works except one, which stays stone cold regardless of setting. Almost always an internal break somewhere along that specific element.
Knob Spins Freely
The dial just spins loose without ever clicking into a set position. A small spring inside the knob mechanism has worn out and needs replacing.
Uneven Flame
Flame burns yellow or ragged instead of a clean, steady blue ring. Usually one or more of the small burner ports has become partially blocked.
